President Maithripala Sirisena had promised to the Tamil National Alliance, to replace the Governors and Chief- Secretaries of the Northern and Eastern Provinces immediately.
Such an assuarance was made, when a delegation of the Tamil National Alliance, led by its leader, R. Sampanthan met the President Maithreepala Sirisena today. This meeting which was held at the Presidential Secretariat from 12.00 noon, went on for about one and a half hours.
Mavai Senathirajah, M.A.Sumanthiran, Suresh Premachandran, Selvam Adaikalanathan, and T.Sitharthan participated in this meeting along with Leader R. Sampanthanon behalf of the Tamil National Alliance. The Government side was represented by the President with the Prime Minister Ranil Wicremasinghe and Rajitha Senaratne. At the out set of the of the meeting, Maithripala thanked the Tamil National Alliance for securing him the votes of the Tamil People abundantly.
The leaders of the Tamil National Alliance discoursed the President that, changes should be made in important posts including that of the Governor and Chief Secretary so that the Northern Province could act efficiently. Replying this suggestion, the president said that changes would be made in these posts.
