Maithri asks for details of lands under control of the Army, within a month

The President yesterday ordered the Secretary to the Ministry of Defense to visit the North and submit a report on the lands still under control of the Army within one month. This order was given to the Secretary to the Ministry in a special meeting held yesterday at the President’s Secretariat presided by the President.

The Governor of Northern Province, Minister of Resettlement, 5 District Secretaries, the Secretary to the Ministry of Defense, and the Army Commander participated in this meeting presided by the President.

In this meeting, the President had inquired about the people being unable to resettle due to their lands being under the control of the Army, on each district basis. Thereafter he ordered the  Secretary to the ministry of Defense to visit the 5 districts from Wednesday, meet connected people and submit him a report within one month. 

Further the President had said the resettlement will be expedited on the basis of the report of the Secretary.
