Manmohan Singh sadly challenges to prove innocence in a fair trail

Soon after a special CBI court summoned Manmohan Singh as an accused in a coal scam case, the former PM said he was ready for any legal scrutiny and expressed confidence that he would prove his “total innocence” in a fair trial.

“I am sure that truth will prevail and I’ll get a chance to put forward my case with all the facts. I have always said I’m open for legal scrutiny. Of course, I’m upset, but this is part of life,” Singh told reporters soon after the court order asking him and others to appear on April 8 in connection with the allocation of Talabira-II coal block in Odisha to Hindalco in 2005.
