Prof. Selva Suresh has made a shocking revelation that the date of the Mannar Mass Grave is within 50 years.
The carbon dating of the Mannar Mass Grave had been published recently and had put the dating between 1400 AD and 1650 AD.
In this context, commenting on the dating of the Mass Grave to a media, he has said as above.
Elaborating further, he said that the age of the Mass Grave is below 50 years. Truth could be brought to light by open examination by Evidence experts recommended by the UNHRC. Human remains get affected in accordance with the quality of the soil and the climate of the environment. As an expert who had made a direct observation, I could say that the Mannar Mass Grave is less than 50 years old.
There are no experts who could undertake this examination. Apart from their dating, more accurate deductions could be made from the teeth of the remains, he had said.
It is notable that Tamil Diplomat published a news item earlier the a Maliban Biscuit wrapper had been recovered from the mass Grave, price marked R.5 and this wrapper had put the date tentatively to 1990, (28 years) which is corroborating what Prof. Selva Suresh had revealed.
