Maveerar Day Today – All Roads of all districts of Home Land of Tamils massed with Police and Army

Army and Police have been massed on the roads of all Districts unusually in view of the Maveerar Day today. The security activities of Security forces had been intensified in  nooks and corners of Tamil Homeland.

Respective District Courts have banned Maveerar commemoration in all 8 districts on North and East, on the applications of the Police. The presence of Army and Police have increased in North and East. In addition to already established Army check points numerous police check post have been established.

Intensive patrols have been undertaken in a way that will create fear in the minds of the Tamil people.

Tamil politicians have expressed strong condemnation of these activities.

They have also said that although bans had been proclaimed against holding the Commemoration, people will sacrificial lamps at their homes at 6.05 p.m today to commemorate the Maveerars.
