The Medical Museum of the Jaffna Teaching Hospital was declared open yesterday. Articles related to Medicine have been exhibited in one part of the Museum.
In this event presided by the Director of the Jaffna Teaching Hospital, Dr.T.Sathiyuamoorthy, Thayarathy Seevaratnam participated as the Chief – Guest and Senior Advisor for Surgery and Director of Doctors’ training of the Gold Coast University of Australia, S.Norojan and the Director of Medical cancerology of the Gold Coast University of Australia, Yasotha Shanmugarajah participated as the Guests of Honour. After the guest had been welcomed and auspicious lamps lighted, the Museum was declared open by the president and other guests. Epigraphs also were declared open.
Those who helped in numerous ways to establish the Museum were awarded memorial souvenirs. This building was gifted by Thayarathy Seevaratnam in memory of her husband, Ponnambala Seevaratnam
