Militarization getting intensive!

Army Officers to be appointed to each GS Divisions to contain violence and drugs.

In the context of increase in violence, drugs smuggling and robberies, in the Jaffna District, Army officers are to be appointed to each Grama Niladhari division where anti-social  activities are occurring in abundance.

Along with the Army officers soldiers also are to be appointed. They will attention on the crimes and through them the offenders will be handed over to the police.

Clarifications are being provided to people on the responsibilities of appointed Army Officers.

All activities of violence, crimes and drug smuggling and sales occurring in the Grama Niladhari divisions had to be informed first to the Army Officers appointed to the respective Grama Niladhari Division, it is said.
