Some missing persons in mentally upset state in detention camps, former militant’s shocking revelation

A former militant has revealed a shocking news that several persons considered missing are in detention camp in a mentally upset state.

A former militant, Navarathnam Nishanthan, (aged 31) who had been released from the notorious Boosa detention Camp on 2017.12.26 met journalist yesterday at Vavuniya and reported this matter.

Elaborating further he said that several others like him had encountered tribulations and is distressed in detention. Justice should be delivered to them. Several mothers say that there are missing. But their children are in detention with a mentally upset state. I don’t care if some danger occurs to me because of my revelation. The government should take due action over this.

I have lost both of my parents during the war. My sister and brother were members of LTTE and had become Maveerars. I was taken to detention camp on 26.04.2009.

I was subjected to severe torture in the detention camp. Nails were pulled out of my toes. I had to undergo  several cruelties and was devastated. I was released by court on 26.12.2017.

I have a 4 acre land in Vattapallai, Mulaitheevu. 2 acre are coconut land. Army has occupied and refusing to release it.

I must go to the next stage of my life. MPs should pay attention on matter, he said.
