Mullikulam lands belong to the state, says the Navy Spokesman

The Navy spokesman, Chamintha Walakuluge had said that the lands occupied by the Navy belong to the state. The people of Mullikulam in Mannar have gone into a continuous struggle demanding the release of their lands currently occupied by the Navy.

He said so to a Colombo media and had further said that if    the people of the North and ERast engage in struggles against the Navy, the Navy will be forced to engage in struggles pointing out the mistakes of the people.

After the Tsunami in 2004 , there is a regulation in force that buildings could only be constructed only 100 Meters away from the shore line. People have not followed this regulation. The navy can point out such mistake. Mulikulam lands belong to the state he said.

However the people of Mulikulam engaged in the protest  said that they will not give up their protest until they step into their own lands.
