Social activist and UK parliamentary candidate for Harrow East Uma Kumaran says she would prioritise Tamils’ right in her international politics if elected Member of Parliament.
“My first and foremost priority in international politics is talking about Tamils’ right. I am a Tamil. The reason I am in this country is my parents fled from Sri Lanka due to civil war. They were lucky enough to come to Britain” she said in an interview with S.A.N Rajkumar for ‘The Conversation’.
She also maintained that the allegations of war crimes in Sri Lanka must be investigated internationally and independently and those responsible must be held to account for their actions.
Uma Kumaran was born in London and raised in Harrow, but she comes from a Tamil family from Sri Lanka.
