The Navy personnel stationed near Kurunagar Jetty will have to vacate the land within two months, the DDC, Jaffna District decided.

The DDC meeting was held at the Auditorium of Jaffna Secretariat yesterday and the above resolution has been passed in this meeting.

The fishermen at the jetty are undergoing severe difficulties now. No space is available for the fishermen to stay there. No place had been provided to repair their boats. There is no place for marketing their catches.

There are more than 500 one-day boats and the fishermen are undergoing severe difficulties in refilling fuel to their boats. With the interests of the fishermen they have requested that their needs are fulfilled at the place.

Several are of the opinion that, a fuel filling station should be established in the land near Cey-Nor factory, vacated by the Army.
