Never consented for changing Myliddy harbor, Navy is distorting statements: Myliddy Fishermen

Myliddy Fishermen had vehemently condemned the Navy for stating that the Societies have consented to change the harbour but the officials are creating confusions in this.

What we have consented for is to construct the harbour at Point Pedro not to change Myliddy harbour they said. Constructing harbours at Point Pedro and Kurunagar were proposal of Mahindha regime, said the President of the Valli North Resettlement and Rehabilitation Society, A.Gunabalasingam.

Earlier a proposal by the Navy to construct a harbor at Valalai was rejected by the fishermen.
