The people of Kepapulavu who are engaged in a three years long continuous struggle have firmly said that they are not ready accept any alternate lands but their own lands.
Commenting on this the people further said ,” we are continuously engaged in the struggle for our lands for three long years. In this context the Governor met the 55 families that are to be resettled, in Kilinochchi and offered to provide alternate lands to us. But we, the 55 families have firmly decided that we will not accept alternate lands and that we want our own lands. We are fighting for a long time to win back our hereditary lands.
Although, the Governor said that the first stage of activities will be undertaken to demark our lands within one week no such action had been taken so far. Instead the officers of the Divisional Secretariat had informed us that our lands are needed by the security forces and it had been instructed to give alternate lands.
If no solution will be provided by Presidential candidates , we will boycott the election, they insisted.
