No media freedom today: Mahinda

Former President and UPFA Parliamentarian Mahinda Rajapakse has observed that the media freedom that prevailed under his regime is non-existent today under the government of President Maithripala Sirisena.

He was responding to issues raised by journalists after his appearance before the Presidential Commission of Inquiry yesterday. He stated that unlike today, he, as President, never summoned heads of media and directed them what to publish and what not to publish.
