No one is interested in our release and pressures on us has been increased after the Easter Sunday bomb attack , the TPPs have said to visiting MP, Sivasakthy Aanandan.
Vanni District MP Sivasakthy Aanandan made a visit yesterday to the TPPs detained for a long time in prison. After finding their problems, he promised that he will do whatever possible to alleviate their problems. Further he met the Prison Officers and requested to attend to the basic needs of the TPPs.
95 TPPs are held in Magazine prison and two of them have been sentenced to life terms. The cases are moving at snail’s pace and in some cases the juniors of state counsels attend courts which is further delaying the cases.
Whenever we undertake some struggle, the politicians always come to make us stop them giving vague promises, but then they just comfortably forget us, they complained. Our release also has been shelved as many other things, for lack of interest, they had said.
