At every stage, the TNA takes action to safeguard the government, the revoking of the Prevention of Terrorism Act and the release of the TPPs gets delayed, said the leader of TNPF, Gajendrakumar Ponnambalam.
He also accused that the TNA had failed to clarify the actual situation of the TPPs to the International Community.
He said this while meeting the media men at the Jaffna Press club yesterday.
In the 2015 sessions the SL government itself had consented to revoke the PTA. However the approach of the TNA is very weak to get TPPs released.
After agreeing to revoke PTA the Government is remaining silent. The TNA has not made the government and the International Community aware of this situation. An alternate law is to be adopted in place of the PTA, which is more draconian than the PTA. But TNA itself is telling this in several places but has failed to inform anything about it to the International Community. Because of this, several persons who fought for the rights of the Tamil people are suffering unnecessarily in prison, he pointed out.
