No truth in corruption charges in Indian Housing scheme, says Indian Consul in Jaffna

The Indian Consul in Jaffna, A.Nadraj, denied that corruption is taking place in the Indian Housing Scheme carried out in the North. No charges regarding corruption alleged to be taking place could be accepted as several officers are involved in examining applications and selecting beneficiaries.

Elaborating further he said that, he is happy that the Indian Government is to build 50,000 houses in Sri Lanka, and it is our intention that these houses should go to appropriate beneficiaries. It is the usual practice everywhere to complain about free aids, he said.
