Nobody can settle in Kokkilai without proper ownership documents, says the Divisional Secretary

The Karaithuraipattu Divisional Secretary has proclaimed a strict order that the southern people who are trying to settle in Kokkilai and build buildings should have proper documents or give up the lands.

The Southern Fishermen who are now living in Kokkilai Beach are trying to put up permanent buildings.

The above order has been proclaimed in the context of the said southern fishermen have encroached traditional Lands of Tamil People and state lands and trying to put up the buildings.

The Coastal Preservation Departments had raised query with us as to how buildings are being put up without permission on beaches of two villages.

Consequent this query, the above proclamation had been mad, said  Kunapalan, the  Divisional Secretary.
