Non-cooperating Director of Point Pedro base Hospital removed temporarily and inquiry ordered

Dr. T.Kugathasan, the Director of Point Pedro Base Hospital has been removed from the post with immediate effect and an inquiry is ordered against him ordered by the Health Ministry, for his refusal to cooperate with the Corona Treatment.

Dr. V.Kamalanathan has been posted as the temporarily as the Director of the said Hospital.

Following complaints from the doctors of the Hospital to the GMOA , that the Director is refusing to cooperate with the efforts of the doctors in treating Corona suspects, GMOA complained to the Ministry and the Ministry had ordered the NP Health Services Department  to undertake a spot inquiry and provide a report on the matter.

The GMOA was gearing up for trade union action if the Director was not removed. However, following orders received to remove Director and to hold inquiry against him, the GMOA had cancelled its action.
