North and East should be merged to form a state , proposal submitted at Kilinochchi to the opinion seeking Committee

The people’s representative Committee for the Constitutional Reforms held its sitting in the District Secretariat , Kilinochchi yesterday and large number organizations and people submitted their proposal to it . The main highlights of their proposals are shown below:
*North and East should be merged.
*Security of the people should be handed over to the State governments.
* Formation of a Constitutional court.
* Land and Police powers to State Governments.
*  Federal Court at the Centre.
* Independent  Justice sector
* Language and Religious rights should be preserved.
* At least 25% allocation for women in all levels of politics.
*  Rights to the voters to recall their Central, State and Local Government representatives if they do not fulfill their responsibilities or engage in fraudulent activities.
* The right to secede, if the people wish

Dr.S.Wijechandran, NPC Leader of the opposition S.Thavarasa, S.C.C.Ilankovan and Miss. K.Valliamai were the members of the committee presided by Divisional Secretary. The will hold its second sitting today also.
