North in the medals, again- Asika wins a Gold

National Level Weight lifting championships are being held at Pollonnaruwa Stadium.

In the 63 Kgs weight group V. Asika of the Chundikuli Girls School representing the North won a Gold Medal lifting 155 Kilos., and P.Mary Regina won the Bronze lifting 91 Kgs.

In the Carrom National series, Ilankeswaran Dishanthy of the Kokuvi Hindu College representing the North won the Bronze Medal in the Singles. She beat Kajani Ranasinghe of the Central Province.

This series was held at the Torrington Indoor Stadium. Western Province won the Gold  and Sabragamuga won the Silver.
