Northern Governor Chandrasiri vacates his office

Major General G. A. Chandrasiri , the governor of Northern Provincial Council has vacated his official residence in Jaffna and returned to Colombo.

The Tamil National Alliance has requested the new government to select a new governor from the civil service. It is said that a new governor will be appointed today or tomorrow.
