The NPC adopts resolution on mysterious deaths of former militants

Northern Provincial Council  has adopted a resolution to find out the truth regarding the mysterious deaths of former militants and and the accusations that poisonous injections being administered to them in detention.

The NPC also had decided to collect the data of former militants who had died mysteriously. The public who knew anything about this had been invited to send the particulars to the CM.

When the 58th sitting of the NPC was in progress , Member, T. Raviharan tabled  the resolution, The CM, he himself proposed the resolution taking into account the importance of the resolution. The house adopted the resolution unanimously. Although the Government has the commitment to look into this matter they will not pay attention to it, said T.Raviharan

He also said several former militants who have testified at the Reconcilation Task Force had requested for Medical Examination for former militants.

It is notable that another former militant Nadarajah Kaliyugarasa (aged 53 years) of Poonakary died yesterday at the Jaffna Teaching Hospital.
