NPC liable to be dissolved, warns the Leader of the House C.V.K.Sivagnanam

In a context where the Northern Provincial Council is to be dissolved in 4 months, it seems that a hand is working overtime somewhere directly or indirectly to dissolve the NPC now. Circumstances are ripe for the council to be dissolved as per plan, said the Leader of the House, C.V.K.Sivagnanam.

The Council held a special sitting yesterday, Monday to discuss about the crisis that had arose about the Cabinet of the Council. The Leader of the House said as above during the above sitting.

Elaborating further he said that If the council is unable to operate or if a slag is found in its functions the Governor could recommend to the President to dissolve the Council. There are provisions in the law for that. In the context of the inability to operate or the slag in its functioning, a fear had risen that, the NPC may be dissolved.

This cannot be considered as a prestige problem of any individual. Somebody is misguiding the CM, he said.

Although the council had adopted a resolution to establish the new Cabinet unanimously with only 19 votes, Neither the CM, Ministers nor a number of Members had participated in the meeting. The CM had earlier informed his inability to participate and his objection for discussing a matter in the Court.

TELO Members walked out saying what the CM did was correct and the ITAK was reduced to conducting the sitting with only the opposition other then them.
