My Objective has  not been reached, says “Princess  of Records” Anitha

Anitha Jegatheeswaran, who has placed her stamp in the Polevault event , says that her objective is yet to be achieved.

She has distinction of  breaking the National record  for Pole Vault event 4 time in the span of one year.

The 43rd National Track and Field Sports Festival in being held at the Godavila grounds in Matara. Polevault event was held yesterday as a part of the above festival

At the outset of the even she jumped to 3.42 M and broke her own record of 2016 at  3.41M. on her 2nd attempt she cleared 3.48M and equaled her record last year. However her 3rd attempt to clear 3.5M , a qualifying height for Asian Games, due to the rain and the resulting slippery condition of the run up.

A.A. Karunawansa representing East won the silver jumping a height of 3.1 M and Western Province’s K.S.Perera won the 3rdplace clearing 3.00 M

Two more athletes who represented North, S.Hareena and V.Sathvika won the 5th and 6th places respectively.

She also has the distinction of representing Sri Lanka in the Thailand Open Athletic meet, last June.

Anitha is training under Coach Subaskaran from 2013.
