Palmyrah development Board, Jaffna has announced of their plan to store 30,000 litres of Palmyrah Cream(Panakkali) during this palmyrah fruit season.
The varieties of Palmyrah cream based products has been increased now. Especially the production of food items, ice cream and juices prepared from Palmyrah Cream has been increased they said. During the Palmyrah fruit season of 2016, around 26,000 litres of Palmyrah cream were extracted from Palmyrah fruits and stored. Large amount of food items were produced from the stored cream. More demand and popularity prevailed for these products.
Hence, action has been taken to increase the production of these item, said the Palmyrah Board officials.
