Pay attention to the problems of Sinhalese settlers in Navatkuli – Governor directs District Secretary
Following complaints from the Buddhist monk of the illegally constructed vihare at Navatkuli, that, the Sinhalese families which had settled in Navatkuli had not received any Government aid, the Governor had directed the District Secretary to pay attention to the problems of the said settlers.
The District Secretary in turn had instructed the Divisional secretary of the Thenmaradchchi Division to look into this matter.
But the Thenmaradchchi DS had informed that, although 72 families had registered there, only 05 families had transferred their family cards here. Only those who transferred their family cards could be given any Government aid.
