TNA had demanded removal of two Army Camp located in around 100 acre of land supposed to had been released in Valli North HSZ area.
More 6,400 acre of the peoiple’s lands are under the Army control for more than 25 years. The people who were driven away from these lands had sought refuge in temporary sheds in the lands of other people.
People who went re-settle in Varuthalai Vilan, a part of the lands that were released last week were highly disappointed as Army is still in occupation of their lands, said the TNA parliamentarians. The army in occupation of these lands should be removed so as to facilitate the re-settlement of these people, said the spokesman for TNA, Suresh Premachandran, MP.
