Permission to catch prawns in the Kilinochchi Delta

Prawns could be harvested in the Kilinochchi delta from today, said the Assistant Director of Department of Fisheries and Marine Resources of Kilinochchi District, Mr. R.Raveendran.

Prawn harvesting was suspended for 45 days to allow young prawns which come in with the flood waters to grow. 3 kinds of prawns will grow in this area. As there was good rainfall received recently, fishermen will have high harvest and profits, he further said
