Pillayan re-remanded

Former Eastern Province Chief Minister (CM) Sivanesanthurai Chandrakanthan alias Pillayan who was arrested in connection with the murder of former Tamil National Alliance (TNA) MP Joseph Pararajasingham  was further remanded by Batticaloa Magistrate, today.

 Security was tightened in and around Batticaloa  today due to the court hearing.

Gunmen opened fire on the TNA MP Joseph Pararajasingham just after he received communion at St Mary’s church in Batticaloa, killing him and injuring eight others, including his wife.
