Pre-school teachers cannot serve under Army administration, rules the President

The Secretary to the NPC Ministry of Education, E.Raveendran informed the Coordinating Committee meeting held at Kilinochchi that, the President had instructed that the Pre-school teachers cannot serve under Army administration and to annex them under the Provincial Council.

MP, Ankajan Ramanathan also informed the committee that president had decided to close down all offices operating under Civil Defence Force.

The public who took part in the meeting called for the Pre-school teachers be brought under the Provincial Council and to produce best pre-school students.

” Many of the Pre-school teachers are militarized and several students go to school with army ensigns.the pre-school teachers are paid rs.30,000/= by the Civil Defence Force. These teachers had to wear blue saree to school. Now the pre-schools had been under the Provincial Council. Provincial Council pay R.4,000/=  to Pre-school teachers.

Hence the militarized Pre-school teaching service should be stopped immediately. We will propose this as a resolution” said one of the co-chairs, MP, S.Sritharan

Following this the Secretary to the NPC Ministry of Education said that, the said matter had already been presented for the attention of the President and he had send a letter saying the ‘No Pre-school teacher can serve under the Civil Defence office. They should immediately get out from there and be made Provincial council teachers.’

TYhen the MP, Ankajan informed that, the President had decided to close down the offices operating under Civil Defence Force and that they will be closed down soon. Following the CM, C.V.Wigneswaran asked this information be passed on to the Army representatives and it was done so.
