President has to stop extremist Buddhist activities and deliver justice, says Mawai Senathyrasa

It is not acceptable that Gnanasara Thero and Malwatte chapter warning, occupying, disgracing and trying to subjugate Tamil people and other religions, said the ITAK President and MP Mawai Senathyrasa. Tamil people will not accept this. Trying to subjugate and eliminate other religions in the guise of providing priority to Buddhism had entailed that the equity of religions and religious beliefs should be constitutionally protected. A secular constitution like India should be proclaimed here.

We cannot accept Gnanasara Thero continuously engaging in anti – religious,  anti racial and anti Democratic activities.  We insist with the President that, Gnanasara Thero and others should be arrested for violating Court Orders, assaulting lawyers and people and brought to book. We insist that the President himself initiate court action against the anti racial and anti religious activities, contempt of court and attacking Lawyers and people and establish justice. If he fails in this, he and the government shall be responsible for the country being divided on the basis of race, area and religion, he said.
