President’s actions strangling Tamils.’rule of the Majority’ has created an unacceptable crisis- Mawai
President in his policy declaration has indicated about “ Majority Rule”. This has created another major crisis to us. We shallnever accept this, said the Leader of ITAK, Mawai Senathyrasa.
He said this while speaking in the 70th Anniversary of ITAK held at Mulaitheevu day before yesterday.
The policy declaration submitted in Parliament by the president is unacceptable to us. We did not expect him to base his declaration on the ethnic problem.
He is proclaiming new doctrines. He has completely altered the history of this country for 70 years and say there is no ethnic problem in the country. He also say that there is no need to devolve the power in this country.
He says that they will reject the agreement made with India and the UN resolution. Tamil people have equity in this country. We have the right to rule this country. We cannot accept him saying that only ‘The rule of Buddhist Sinhala Majority will prevail in this country. Banning the singing of National Anthem in Tamil amounts to rejecting the equity the Tamils have in this country. Lot of danger will be caused to Democracy by this.
Activities of destroying our race, Trangressing into lands and paralyzing our language rights are intensifying. We will continue to fight democratically against them, he said.
