Principals and Teachers hold attention drawing demonstration in Jaffna Town

Several Educational Sector Trade Unions including the Ceylon Teachers Services Union Ceylon Teachers Union held sick leave campaign demonstration, island wide yesterday  on six demands including, finding solution to salary discrepancies prevailing for the last 23 years and integration of the Teachers’ and Principals’ services.

In an attempt to strengthening this struggle, The Principals and Teachers of the North joined together in an attention drawing demonstration in Jaffna Town at around 10.30 a.m.

Teachers and Principals of Kilinochchi District also undertook an attention drawing demonstration yesterday in support of the country wide demonstration of Teachers and Principals.

Because of this schools were found deserted and learning activities paralyzed.
