Rajapakses may have the habit of taking the money belonging to the country and people. But I don’t have such habits, said Justice Wigneswaran yesterday.
He expressed this opinion in a discussion about the contemporary political situation held at the Jaffna Press Club yesterday.
He said so when was asked to comment about the President’ s question, put to Senior Editors of the National Media, why Wigneswaran is asking for money from people while he had return money sent to the NPC without spending it?
Elaborating further he said, no money received by the NPC was sent back. But, without spending the money sent to their Ministries, it seems that they are trying attribute it on us. Fear is the cause behind such criticism being made.
When money is received from the people the righteous obligation to serve the people will increase in the candidates. We are requesting for whatever possible amounts, big or small from the people.
receipts will be issued for the money donated so that the people could point out our shortcoming with right. It is our stance that there is nothing wrong in requesting money from people to serve the people, he said.
It is notable that he had said elsewhere that, he is not ready to collect money abroad and from local rich and become their eternal puppet.
