Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has chided former Minister Wimal Weerawanse for inciting people by making communal slogans and disrupting national unity.
He made the remark while addressing Parliament recently. He cautioned UPFA MP Wimal Weerawansa against race baiting. The Premier made this observation during his speech in Parliament.
“Whether it is Sinhala, Tamil or Muslim, we should all think as Sri Lankans. I was surprised to hear a statement made by Wimal Weerawansa today. Weerawansa ruined former President Mahinda Rajapaksa. I request him not to disrupt all our work as he did with the former President.
The time has come for all communities to work in harmony while forgetting racism. There is a framework to which the two main political parties have agreed. Even the TNA is willing to discuss. Let us solve the national problems in unison,” he stressed.
