The Chief Minister of the NPC publicly yesterday accused that, the Prime Minister Ranil Wicremasinghe is trying to split the TNA. I view the statement of Ranil, that, he will not speak to the Chief Minister and that he will only talk to TNA as a deliberate attempt to split the TNA.
The Chief Minister speaking on a special attention drawing speech, said as above. Continuing his speech he said that, Ranil had said that I am not speaking the truth. It is my duty to clarify on this matter.
I went with certain people to meet Ranil after he took over the premiership in the evening of 10th January, this year, in Colombo. I will not reveal with whom I went, and where we met Ranil. It is a 100% truth that he told me straight that, he was to tell the Maha Nayakes of the Buddhist chapters that he will not remove Army from the North. If he now says that he had not told so, then he should say whether he is consenting to remove the Army from the Northern Province.
I was compelled to speak about meeting him because Ruwan Wijewardene had talked about the Army in Jaffna. If he says now that, he had talked anything about the Army, then, it seems that his stance has changed now. If he will say that remove the Army soon Tamil People will be happy. Without saying that, if he says , that, he will not speak to the Chief Minister and that he will only talk to TNA, I consider it as a deliberate attempt to split the TNA.
There is no split among us. All of us are branches of a majestic tree, the TNA. What enhance us and prosper us is our will related to the thinking of the present and future interest of Tamil People. Said the Chief Minister.
