Rehabilitation to TPPs after bailing them out

It had been reported that the government is contemplating to release the TPPs on bail and then rehabilitate them. A meeting is to be held in connection with this in Colombo today.

Following the fast unto death by the TPPs the Government earlier said that the TPPs will be released on bail, then said they will be released after rehabilitation.  Out of the 85 persons opted for Rehabilitation, 20 were selected for rehabilitation  but, only 3 could be sent to rehabilitation as the others had more than one case.

Last Saturday, TNA’s  M.A.Sumanthiran had a meeting with Ranil Wickremasinghe  and this will be continued today.

Meanwhile, the Government had contemplated releasing the IDDPs on bail and then to rehabilitate them.
