Relatives of Missing persons hold attention drawing demonstration in Vavuniya
The relatives of the missing persons held an attention drawing demonstration yesterday in Vavuniya.
The relatives who are undertaking a continuous struggle for more than 1200 days, calling for their relatives to be found, in front of the Road Development authority, Vavuniya, undertook an attention drawing demonstration yesterday at around 11.30 a.m.
Homage were paid to Sinnasamy Nallathamby who died while participating in several struggles for his son and others who had gone missing. The demonstrators carried the portraits of Sinnasamy Nallathamby and national flags of foreign countries including that of USA. Memorial flames were lighted for Nallathamby and floral tributes were paid.
Relatives who had lost their dear ones are holding struggles for several years, demanding justice for their children from governments which came to power alternatively.
However no government took care of their demands and hence, the relatives are now requesting for international intervention. Even the international countries had so far not delivered any justice for their children.
It is notable that, even in this context the relatives are continuing their struggle with the hope that justice will be delivered to them.
