Request for the release Theravil Thuyilumillam

The Chairman of the Karaichchi Pradeshiya Sabai, Velamalikithan has written to the Ministry of Defence requesting the release of Theravil Thuyilumillam, coming under Kanadawalai Divisional Secretariat, to people for their worshiping and homage paying.

The Karaichchi PS Member, Jeevarasa tabled a resolution related to this in the Pradeshiya Saba and a decision was taken that the PS will take action to get the Thuyilumillam released. Accordingly, a letter requesting the release of Theravil  Thuyilumillam has been sent to the Secretary of Defence and  the Army Commander of Kilinochchi District.

More than 3,000 Maveerars who had sacrificed their lives in had been interred here. They sacrificed their lives to protect their people. It is notable that this request has been  sent to insist the right of remembering their children and lighting memorial flames  rest  with the parents of each Maveerar.
