Rowdies armed with swords and clubs play havoc on village people

Rowdies who had come on motor cycles armed with swords and clubs have attacked people at the village of Navaly South at around 7.30 p.m. day before yesterday.

More than 10 persons had come on motor cycle to church road and smashed up a shop on that road and later started attacking people who were standing nearby. They have also smashed and slashed the motor cycles and autos parked near this shop. On information from the people, Manipay police had come to the spot and inspected the damages. The victims told the police the attackers were strangers to the area. The reason for this attack or who were the attackers are not known yet. Manipay police are making further inquiries.
