The war ship Sagara which was engaged in sinking the arms ships of LTTE was gifted to Sri Lanka by India. The event connected to this was held at Colombo Port on 26 august 2015. At the height of the war this ship was given to Sri Lanka by India, to control the arms ships of LTTE in 2006.
This 75M long and 11M wide ship played a major role in the operation to sink the ships of LTTE. After the end of the war this ship was engaged in deep sea monitoring.
It is notable that this ship sunk three ships with weapons for the LTTE , with the guidance of India.
