As Saloons are closed workers dependent on them are in distressed

The treasurer of the saloon owners Association, Vavuniya, Anthonypillai Kirupairasa said yesterday that as saloons are closed as per Government orders, around 500 families are in distress.

He commented so, when asked about the situation of the saloon employees. We have made registration of our Association to cover saloons from Cheddikulam to Omanthai. Because of the Corona threat around 500 families had been affected.

They depended daily on this for their livelihood. As per the request of the Health officers we have closed the saloons for last one and a half months. Families of several members of our Association are badly affected as they don’t know any other trades, he said.
