Sinhala Maha Vidyalaya in Jaffna again, promises  Asgiriya Mahanayake

On the basis of the importance of the three languages, action will be taken to reestablish the Sinhala Maha Vidyalaya in Jaffna. All the religions teach only peace, Fellowship and unity. If this country is to progress we have to we should live in cooperation, said the Mahanatyake of the Asgiriya Chapter, Ven. Varakkakgoda Dhamasithy Sri Gnanratne Thero.

He said this while participating the discussion under a theme of ” The peaceful situation prevailing in the country and the Religious Co-existence”,  held yesterday at the District Secretariat, Jaffna.

He further said that the clergy had put forward several requests today. I will take action to make the President and PM aware of these problems and insist with them to take action to solve these problems.

Hindu clergy who spoke at the discussion said the they are accepting the priority given Buddhism, but other religions should not be affected by that.

The Governor Reginold Cooray speaking there said that he has become aware of the innocence  and  loving people. All the religions have taught humanity and reconciliation, he said.
