Sinhalese people led by Monk demonstrate in front of Mulaitheevu Neeraviyadi Pillaiyar temple

A demonstration was held in front of Mulaitheevu/Palaya Chemmalai / Neeraviyadi Pillaiyar Temple by few Sinhalese people led by the Buddhist Monk, who had encroached in to the temple premises.

Few Sinhalese people who were brought from Manalaru areas and few Buddhist monks from Pulmoddai area participated in the Demonstration.

The Pillaiyar Temple area is situated in the Kurukantha Raja Maha Vihrai premises. Politicians are creating problems and disturbances here. The President and the Prime minister should intervene in this problem and obtain us a proper solution, insisted the demonstrators.

The court had granted permission to that Tamil people could worship and undertake development work at the Neeraviyadi Pillaiyar Temple, where the said Bhikku had encroached. Court had further ordered that both factions should undertake worship without disturbing the peace.

Although, the court’s order is there, the Sinhalese led by the Bhikkus had undertaken this protest.
