Sit in protest held at Jaffna District Secretariat over land survey

A sit protest was staged at the Jaffna Government Agent District Secretariat office in Jaffna today for an hour against  the Sri Lankan military’s ongoing land surveys of peoples’ land in Annaikkottai, Jaffna.

They protested against land survey work being undertaken allegedly for the purpose of constructing navy and army camps on public land.

Protesters also locked the main gate of the District Secretariat.

Several Tamil politicians including Northern Provincial Council’s member M K Sivajilingam, TNPF General Secretary  Selvaraja Kajendren  also took part in the protest.
