The sittings of Northern Provincial Council held without full attendance of members

Although the number of sittings are on the increase,  they are held without the full attendance of  members from the outset, the Provincial Council secretariat  has stated.

The above reply had been provided to an inquiry regarding the attendance and leave obtained of  the members of the NPC made under the Right to know information law. The NPC was instituted on 19th January 2015 for the expression of fulfillment and shortcomings of NP. No sitting was held with the full attendance of members. Some absent for council sittings due to personal leaves.

23 sittings in 2015, saw 76% attendance. 38 sittings were held in 2016 with 72% attendance. 49 sittings were held in 2017, so far, with76% attendance. Number of sittings, in 2017 was high because of number of special sittings. However the attendance was never complete, it said.
