Skeleton recovered at Muhamalai Forward Defence line belongs to female Porali                

The skeleton recovered from Muhamalai has been identified as belonging to a female Porali.

Yesterday was fixed for excavations and in a context the police and Army guarding the spot where parts of human skeletons were earlier identified, the excavation work started before Kilinochchi District Court Judge,    T. Saravanarajah, Judicial Medical Officer at around 3.00 p.m.

Two identification tags of female Poralis were recovered at the spot. One set of human bones and two identification tags issued by LTTE bearing No: j.tp.G Qh–302 and j.tp.G Qh–188 were recovered.  They belong to persons with B+ and O+ blood groups. It reported that these two number tags belong to Sothiya Brigade of the LTTE.

The skull of the skeleton also has been recovered. A cyanide  capsule issued by LTTE to its combatants for the purpose of killing themselves in case of being falling into enemy’s hands, a waist belt of female Pporali, fertilizer bags, LTTE Uniforms, a foot wear, olive green uniforms, batteries, shampoo bottles had been recovered from there.

A rifle, 2 hand grenades, 8 magazines and 3 Holders also have been recovered from the spot.

The Kilinochchi Magistrate said that the excavation work will be continued today.
