SLFP appoints a committee to study OHCHR report

The Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) has appointed a committee headed by former President Chandrika Kumaratunga for their own judgment on the merits and demerits of the report on Sri Lanka by the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR).

SLFP General Secretary Duminda Dissanayake said that the committee will submit a report on the findings and recommendations mentioned in the UN report.

The committee will see if the report and the recommendations pose a threat to Sri Lanka’s national security and what steps they would propose the Government should take in order to address the concerns in the report.
