Space junk WT1190F did not hit Earth, it has burnt in the atmosphere: say scientists

The object, WTF1190F, was set to land in the Indian Ocean, around 40 miles that is 65km off the southern tip of Sri Lanka, at 11:50 a.m. on November 13.

The hunk of space junk which  expected to fall to Earth in a spectacular light show near Sri Lanka today morning — at 11.48am local time (6:20 UTC) did not make it to land as expected.

Scientist who were observing the space junk WT1190F  say that the junk has burnt in the atmosphere and, the Sri Lanka Planetarium sources states.

WT1190F was first spotted on February 18, 2013, but scientists suspect that it had been in orbit around Earth since 2009.
